Hurricane Damage Claims May be Headed for Tampa

Look out Tampa Bay – Hurricane damage claims may be coming your way! A recent article posted on Weather.com listed the “10 Most Vulnerable and Overdue Hurricane Cities” in America. Unfortunately, the first city on their list was…Tampa, Florida! The article pointed out that despite the fact that hurricanes and other tropical storms have struck many other parts of the State of Florida over the past few decades, the last time Tampa suffered a direct hit by a Hurricane was in 1921.
Floridians – especially those in Tampa and other coastal regions – should not take the upcoming hurricane seasonally lightly. Despite the fact that the Tampa Bay area has remained free of major storms for the past few decades, we should not be lulled into the belief that the Tampa Bay area is somehow immune from hurricane damage. Always monitor storm activity through media sources such as weather.com and make sure to keep adequate supplies on hand in case of an emergency.
It is also crucially important that you review your insurance policies immediately in order to determine if you have appropriate and adequate coverage for any hurricane damage claims which may be caused by these storms. Should you have any questions about the coverages available under your insurance policy, we would be happy to assist you. It is always better to know what insurance you have BEFORE the need arises, rather than learning afterwards that you do not have the coverage you need. Hopefully, it will be another uneventful hurricane season, but it is always better to be safe than sorry!
